Do you have a favorite story you’ve been dying to share? Or perhaps you’re looking for a unique, heartwarming way to practice your reading skills? We are thrilled to announce a special, recurring event at Strata Apartments that is sure to bring a wag to your tail and a smile to your face: our "Read to a Dog" sessions!
 
There is something truly magical about the bond between humans and animals, especially when it comes to the gentle, non-judgmental presence of a pup. Whether you are a young reader building confidence, a student looking for a relaxing study break, or simply a book lover who enjoys the company of furry friends, this event is perfect for you. We invite residents of all ages and reading levels to come and spend some quality time with our very special volunteer dogs—Joey, Clyde, and Mim. These calm and friendly companions are ready to sit by your side, listen intently to your favorite tales, and provide a cozy audience for your reading adventures.
 
Event Details:
  • Who: Readers of all ages are welcome! Please note that for safety and comfort, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • What: Enjoy a 15-minute dedicated reading session with one of our volunteer dogs. Remember to bring your own book to read!
  • Where: Join us in Community Room B for these sessions.
  • When: We will be hosting these delightful meet-and-greet reading times on a regular schedule to fit your busy life:
    • 1st and 3rd Monday of the month
    • 2nd and 4th Friday of the month
    • 4th Wednesday of the month
    • Time: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
How to Join:
 
Because we want to ensure each reader gets their own special 15-minute slot with a dog, registration is required beforehand. You can choose a time that works best for your schedule and sign up easily by visiting our registration page at [link removed].
 
Whether you want to read to Joey on a Monday or share a story with Mim on a Wednesday, there are plenty of opportunities to participate.
